Review on Solar Energy Development in Tehran
Abstract
There are abundant renewable energy sources in Iran such as wind, solar, geothermal, biomass. However, Iran is fully dependent on fossil fuels for industrial, residential and transportation sectors. Tehran extremely high level of energy consumption per head of population. Also, air pollution in Tehran is increasing every day. So, the development of novel solar power technologies is one of the best solutions for these problems in Tehran and other cities of Iran. In this paper, first of all, I covered the current state of Iran's energy like fossil fuels and renewable energy resources. Then I described the solar potential energy in Iran and specifically in Tehran with a few case studies. Finally, in conclusion, I described the potential opportunities of Iran over solar energy.
